Big Mamma D has been entertaining people since she could stand up and sing. Her grandpa used to stand her in front of any crowd he could gather. From Singing with bands to performing on stages like the globe theatre, playing with symphonies to historical re-enactment, professional piracy to costuming and makeup, she has been on stage in some sort or form most of her life. Today she is the creator, owner, designer, costume mistress, promoter, makeup artist and nurse ratchet for this show. You could say it's her baby.

Hellcat Harlowe "The Wildcat from Wildwood"

Her true origins are an Appalachian mystery. She was discovered by missionaries who were hiking Gregory's Bald near the Cade's Cove National Park in the Smokey Mountains. The couple were surprised to discover the toddler, who was apparently living in a cave with several mountain lions. The missionaries brought her back to their home in the Wildwood Community of Blount County and attempted to give her a proper upbringing. The God fearing couple's efforts did little good to curb the animal instincts of the wildcat girl. She was prone to trouble, often being escorted home by the sheriff for hot rodding, lewd conduct, and intoxication form moonshine. She eventually ran away to shack up with a family of bootleggers , but even an endless supply of white lightnin could only hold her interest so long. It was off to the big city of Knoxville, where she made a name for herself as a cage and shadowbox dancer in the wildest nightspots in town. She did a brief stint as a dominatrix and fetish performer, but yet again the law put an end to her fun. She founded White Lightnin Burlesque with hottest dames she met in the underbelly of Knoxville's Nightlife. Hellcat Harlowe is guaranteed to make your gun smoke!

Is convinced that the ability to perform on stages comes with a tiny bit of narcissism. Artist, performer, habitual trouble maker, and lover of all things glamourous. These are just a few words that I would use to describe myself. A little over two years ago, I fell in love with the art form known as Burlesque. As a woman, I can tell you that it is probably one of the most empowering experiences that I have had the privilege of partaking in. In the day and age of photo shop and this obsession for the "perfect" body. I think that it is more important than ever that we celebrate the bodies that we have, and learn how to accentuate our natural beauty, and stop trying to fit a mold that is close to impossible. Big Mamma's Productions has performances across Charlotte and various other places across the Southeast. Catch me and many of the lovely ladies at the many venues that we perform at.
